How to Enable Biometric Authentication

Please follow the steps below to simplify your login process using fingerprint or facial recognition:



Tip: Ensure your device is already registered with a fingerprint or face in your phone's system settings before activating these features in the MySyarikat app.


Step 1: Initiate Settings


  1. Go to the Settings section within the app.
  2. Click on the Biometric Authentication menu.
  3. On the Biometric Login screen, toggle (switch on) the button at the top right to enable it.




Troubleshooting: "No Biometric Enrolled" Error


If you encounter the error message shown below:


No biometric enrolled. Please set up Face ID or Fingerprint in your smartphone's system settings



Please follow these steps to resolve the issue:


  1. Phone Settings: Ensure that you have already registered your Face ID or Fingerprint within your smartphone's system settings.


For Android User :


  • Open the Settings app.
  • Navigate to Security & Privacy.
  • Select Device Unlock, then tap Face & Fingerprint Unlock.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the Face & Fingerprint Unlock Setup.



For IOS (Iphone) User:


  • Open the Settings app.
  • Scroll down and tap Face ID & Passcode.
  • Toggle on iPhone Unlock (you may be prompted to enter your passcode).
  • Select Set Up Face ID (or Enroll Face) and follow the on-screen prompts to complete the setup.




  1. Log Out (Required): Once the phone settings are configured, you must log out and log back into the app to refresh the session. (This allows the app to detect the new biometric data.)


    1. Go to the Settings section within the app.
    1. To ensure the settings are working, go back to Settings and click the Log Out button.
    1. Confirm by pressing Confirm.




  1. Activate Biometrics:


Return to the app's settings and try to toggle the Biometric Login button again.


    1. Go to the Settings section within the app.
    1. Click on the Biometric Authentication menu.
    1. On the Biometric Login screen, toggle (switch on) the button at the top right to enable it.




Step 2: Identity Verification


  1. A system prompt will appear asking you to verify your identity.
  2. Touch the fingerprint scanner or use the facial scan on your device.
  3. Once successful, a green message "Biometric login enabled successfully!" will appear at the bottom of the screen.




Step 3: Log Out & Test


  1. To ensure the settings are working, go back to Settings and click the Log Out button.
  2. Confirm by pressing Confirm.
  3. On the main login screen, click the Biometric Login icon (fingerprint image) to log back in without typing your password.




Additional Security Features

Once the Biometric function is active, you will see three additional options to enhance the security of your personal information:


1. App Lock


  • Function: Prevents direct access to the application.
  • Description: Every time you open the MySyarikat app, the system will require biometric verification first. This is very useful if your phone is often borrowed by others or if you want to ensure your work data remains protected.


  1. Biometric Authentication Settings: Shows the "App Lock" feature enabled for an account.
  2. Phone Home Screen: Displays the app icon among other standard utilities.
  3. Face ID Initiation: The app requesting Face ID verification upon launch.
  4. Successful Authentication: A checkmark indicating Face ID has been verified.
  5. Main Dashboard: The final landing page showing the user's name, a "Clock In" button, and various HR functions like Leave, Claim, and Overtime.




2. Slip Lock (Payslip Lock)


  • Function: Protects confidential information within your payslip.
  • Description: Even if you are already inside the app, you must perform a biometric scan again before being allowed to view payslip details. This ensures your income information is not accidentally seen by those around you.


  1. Security Configuration: The user has "Slip Lock" enabled (middle toggle), which requires biometric authentication specifically to view payslip details.
  2. Payment Overview: The main payment dashboard showing "Total Year To-Date" (masked for privacy) and navigation to the Payroll section.
  3. Payroll History: A list of payroll entries for April 2026 with various statuses (Approved, Pending, Closed).
  4. Slip Lock in Action: When the user attempts to interact with a specific record, the "Face ID" verification pops up, demonstrating the "Slip Lock" feature configured in the first screen.




3. Payment Lock (Amount/Transaction Lock)


  • Function: Protects hidden transaction amounts or balances.
  • Description: This feature is used to reveal hidden amounts or during payment transactions. It acts as a final layer of security to prevent any unauthorized changes or transactions without the account owner's consent.


  1. The Switch: You turn on "Payment Lock" in the settings.
  2. The Mask: All salary and money amounts are hidden behind asterisks (RM**) and a "slashed eye" icon.
  3. The Unlock: You tap the icon, use Face ID, and the real numbers appear.
