# [Version 3.0 EN] Lateness Buffer Function Setting in Shift

| Lateness Buffer Function Setting

|| The lateness buffer is used to determine the grace period allowed before salary deduction is applied. For example, if the working hour is set at **8:00 AM** and the buffer is set for **15 minutes**, staff who clock in between **8:01 AM and 8:15 AM** will still be recorded as late, but no salary deduction will be applied in the payroll.

|| If the staff clocks in after **8:15 AM**, then the system will start calculating salary deductions based on the lateness.

**Steps to set up the lateness buffer:**

1. Go to **System Setting**
2. Click **Attendance**
3. In the **Shift Manager** section, select the relevant **Shift**
4. Click **Details**
5. Click **Update**

6. Go to **Lateness Setting**
7. Enable **Enable Lateness Calculation**
8. Enable **Enable Lateness Buffer**
9. Enter the value for **Minute after Clock In**
10. Click **Save**
